Software North LLC has made every effort in its 22 years of existence to provide a consistent low markup environment for our customers and the great people who carry out the projects. The following situations show some effects of this policy. The other less obvious effect is a staff whose experience would make any of the national consulting firms green with envy.
- A subcontractor to Software North LLC was also a subcontractor to another contract programming firm. The sub was doing work for our "Customer A" which he was uniquely qualified to do. He was also doing work through the other firm for "Customer B". Customer B was getting important work done but of a less specialized nature at a rate $11/hour higher than what we were charging "Customer A". Does it surprise you that the subcontractor was receiving $15/hr. more from SN than from the other firm? Then it should not surprise you for whose customer he was more willing to work!
- We hired an employee who was working for another contract firm at "Customer C". He did not want the customer to be left without support, so he asked that we contract him to that customer at the same rate as he had had through the other company. We were happy to do so, although he got a $10/hr. raise for both that work and the project we engaged him for. Any wonder why we can pick up the best talent available?
