Software North LLC usually contracts with its clients to provide very experienced programmer/analysts as a supplement to their full-time staff. At the present time the average SN staff member has over 20 years of programming experience. This fits well with our clients needs for temporary personnel who can become immediately productive. Unfortunately the supply of such personnel is limited.
We frequently interview (and sometimes train on internal projects) very talented individuals who provide a productive adjunct to a project but whose experience level requires that they work closely with senior personnel. In the past we have rarely made these inexperienced people available to our clients.
To better utilize these talented but inexperienced programmers, SN has designed a special program that we believe will be of considerable benefit to our clients. We are referring to it as the Econo Team program and it consists of the following features:
- With the consent of the client and the Senior SN programmer/analyst/consultant involved, SN will place one trainee level programmer with each Sr. A/P/C. This assignment may be terminated at any time on the advice of client, Sr. A/P/C, or SN.
- The clients all inclusive rate for this additional programmer (Anchorage assigned) will be below that for a SN Junior Programmer ($57/hr.). It will start at one of the first few steps on the table below;
| Step 1 |
$35/hour |
| Step 2 |
38/hour |
| Step 3 |
41/hour |
| Step 4 |
45/hour |
| Step 5 |
48/hour |
| Step 6 |
51/hour |
and change automatically to the next step after each 3 month billing period. Rates would be changed effective in the 4th, 7th, 10th, 13th, and 16th billing months. Once the trainee reaches the regular SN Junior Programmer rate, he/she will no longer be subject to automatic rate escalation. If at any time the trainee is moved to an independent assignment he will be billed at the SN Jr. Programmer rate.
With careful selection of the trainees, we think this program will provide the experience needed to start these programmers on a successful career. At the same time it will permit our clients to look at some new talent, and accomplish some tasks at a modest cost.
